Shana B. Don't be a Pu*sy

Hey, I'm Tyris Manney. I've decided use my platform to support other artists and entrepreneurs. I ask each person a series of questions to get to know their outlook on things. We are all unique in our own way. I want everyone to know that they matter. I want your story to be heard. If you can, support the artists and entrepreneurs in anyway you can. A simple share will make a difference.

Who are you? (Your name, pronouns, age, birthday, zodiac sign, and where you’re from.)

Shana B.

From the south side of Chicago

What is it that you do? (Example: what kind of artist are you? What kind of business do you have? Full detail.)

I am a child care & black community advocate, and owner of a streetwear brand DBP (don’t be a pu*sy).

What inspired you to pursue it?

I’ve always had a thing for child care & development since the age of 8. I have 10 years worth of experience in the field. I also grew up in bare minimum communities, that left me to ask “why”, and what can I do to help make someone else’s life a little better. My streetwear brand was something I created to give myself something to believe in as I conquer all of my fears & dreams.

What experiences in life made you stronger?

Failed romantic & non-romantic relationships has made me stronger. Mentally & emotionally.

If you could change one thing about the world would it be and why?

If I can change anything about our world today it would be self-hate, because everything starts with us, as individuals, and in order to prosper in life we need to be secure and confident within ourselves.

What does a life well lived look like to you?

A life well lived would like Nipsey Hustles: he did what he did in his past life, owned it, never referred, stood on everything he said & believed in, he also Elevated his mind & life in the process, and giving back as well.

Lastly, what is it like to be you? Full detail.

It’s easy being me, because I only know how to be myself. It comes with challenges due to being vulnerable, but it’s nothing I can’t handle because I’m always honest with myself.
